I just wanted to let you know how Christmas went with my brother's photo collage. It was the last gift to open (of course!) and he opened it and pretty much said 'Gee thanks. This is nice." and then put is aside and smiled. And I was thinking to myself "No tears? What?" So then I went on and started to tell him all about the artist and how you said how much you enjoyed creating it and then he started bawling like a baby! (He had put it aside so he wouldn't cry!) Anyway, everyone had tears in their eyes (including my boyfriend!) and it was a really great moment. It's already hanging up on his wall at home and everyone comments on it. My parents were thrilled, and overcome with emotion as they opened their 25th anniversary gift and realized what it was. As you’ve probably heard from others, they just started looking all over it, with memories coming to the forefront. It was a wonderful moment for them. Either that day, or early the next, they had removed the picture above their living room mantle and replaced it with their new collage, so it is now prominently displayed in their favourite room to sit with family and to relax. I have been meaning to let you know that the collage you created for us went over very well. My brother and sister-in-law were tickled pink. Every time someone new came to the house on that rainy day my brother would bring the collage to them and show it off. My sister-in-law was having a fit because she was afraid it would get wet. Unbelievable. I've never seen a reaction like that to any gift in my entire life. Thought you might like to know the reaction to the anniversary gift to our parents. They were amazed and delighted. They did not have a family portrait of all of us and this picture provided them with just that. We presented the picture to them on Saturday, November 5th at a reception in honor of their 50th anniversary. On a sadder note, our mom passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 8th (the actual day of their golden anniversary).
